A Physician Group Serving Alameda Health System
Careers – Department of Medicine – Faculty Position, Division of Hospital Medicine
The Department of Medicine and OakCare Medical Group are seeking a Hospitalist to join the Division of Hospital Medicine at Highland Hospital. Highland Hospital is a Level 1 Trauma Center that is part of Alameda Health System and serves the greater Oakland area and the remainder of Alameda County. The facility has 235 licensed beds, a faculty of 65 specialists and generalists in the Department of Medicine and is home to several teaching programs, including a large Internal Medicine Residency Program.
Our Hospitalists provide care to patients in a variety of settings at Highland Hospital. These settings include inpatient medical services (including a medical consultation service), the intensive care unit (a separate MICU team is available for consultation, procedures and appropriate transfers), and the emergency room. In alignment with Department of Medicine priorities, the Division of Inpatient Medicine fosters a culture of camaraderie, professional development, innovation, and high-value care. Our Hospitalists function as a close-knit and mutually supportive group of physicians who are dedicated to our hospital’s safety-net mission and their role as clinician educators.
Full-time 1.0 FTE is 2070 hours. For most of our faculty in the Division of Hospital Medicine, these hours are a combination of clinical, teaching and administrative roles. Further delineation of FTE will be individualized to the candidate. Interested candidates should submit CVs and statements of interest to the Chair of the Search Committee: Taft Bhuket, MD; Division Chief of Gastroenterology; firstname.lastname@example.org.
